Meet Our Knowledgeable, Friendly Staff

Pediatric & Adolescent Urgent Care of WNY is staffed by pediatricians with extensive experience in pediatric emergency medicine. Our medical staff goes above and beyond for your child’s or adolescent’s healthcare needs, whether they come in with a fever or require diagnostic testing for strep throat. Our staff has specialized training in several illnesses such as colds and sinus infections, as well as injuries like sprains and broken bones. We are a faster, more affordable alternative to the ER, which is why so many parents and families choose us.

Kathleen Grisanti, MD
Owner and Medical Director 

A native of Buffalo, Dr. Grisanti obtained her MD from the University at Buffalo. She completed a pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, and then went on to complete her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. For over 18 years, Dr. Grisanti was an attending in the Department of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. She served as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for over nine years. Dr. Grisanti has authored articles on asthma, bronchiolitis, abdominal trauma, and cervical spine injuries (CSI). 

This work has been disseminated through a variety of publications, most notably The New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatrics, Lancet, Academic Emergency Medicine, Journal of American Academy of Child Adolescent Psychiatry, Journal of Neurosurgery, Archives of Pediatric Adolescent Medicine, Annals of Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric Emergency Care.

In December 2010, Dr. Grisanti pioneered the first WNY pediatric urgent care facility, and since then, has turned it into a center of excellence, as an ER alternative for infants, children, adolescents and young adults through age 21.

She has five children: two boys and three girls, ages 14 through 25.

Susan Wiepert, MD

Dr. Sue has been at Pediatric and Adolescent Urgent Care of WNY since July 2012. She graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2005 with her Medical Doctor degree. She completed a dual residency training program at The University at Buffalo in Pediatrics/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2011. Dr. Wiepert is board certified to practice pediatric medicine. Dr. Sue is also the owner and Medical Director of Purely Pediatrics, a membership-based pediatric practice based in Lewiston, NY. Prior to completing her medical degree, Dr. Sue was a pediatric physical therapist for 8 years. Dr. Sue lives in Lewiston, NY with her husband and two busy boys. She loves working with children of all ages, and her favorite thing is to hand out "magic Popsicles" after each urgent care visit. Dr. Sue also loves animals, making children smile, and minions! She looks forward to meeting you and your little ones. 

Kate Johnson-Clark, DO

Dr. Johnson-Clark graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida in 2008 and completed her residency at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in 2011. She was then Chief Resident for an additional year. Kate has been practicing General Pediatrics in Buffalo for the last 2 years. She has been married to her husband, Scott, for almost 12 years they have 3 adorable boys and 1 girl, Maddox, Rian, Oliver, and Emerson! 

Bob Derr, MD

Dr. Bob Derr grew up in Ohio and graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine in 1992. After traveling to Virginia and Florida for his training, he moved to Western New York in 1997 to complete his fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine. Dr. Bob worked in pediatric emergency departments in Buffalo and Denver before joining Pediatric & Adolescent Urgent Care of WNY in May 2016. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

In 2003, he married his lovely wife Penny and they have 2 beautiful girls, Grace and Gabby. Grace loves cheerleading, while Gabby, who has Down Syndrome loves music and dancing. Dr. Bob is a sports fan and despite rooting for his hometown teams from Cincinnati, he has become a huge Sabres and Bills fan.
